Fuse FM Back On Air

UNIVERSITY RADIO station Fuse FM went back on air on Sunday for what they are promising will be their "best ever" broadcasting session.

The station were initially denied an on air slot for their spring semester session – but regulators Ofcom dramatically relented.

The local community station which was to take The University of Manchester's 28 day broadcasting slot collapsed late last year.

This upcoming broadcast will be Broadcast 16 and radio station staff said they were "hoping to really make waves" within the student population of Manchester.

Station manager Sarah Vale said: "We are really excited to have the licence back. Fuse has gone from strength to strength thanks to the hard work that has gone in all round, and we hope to see the station become one of the top student radio stations in the country."

Broadcast 16 is here!

Fuse FM is on air right now broadcasting live on 106.3FM from the University of Manchester.

You can listen online from this very snazzy website by clicking 'Listen' on the menu above or using our Live Player on the right.

The Live Player pops up in a new window and allows you to not only listen to us insane people on Fuse FM but also watch us on webcam and get in touch - all in one little page!

So what you doing reading this? Get listening!

Fuse FM to Return to the Airwaves

AWARD-WINNING University radio station Fuse FM will now be returning to FM radio after it's broadcasting licence was renewed.

The station had previously been denied the chance to boardcast on FM for the Spring session in favour of local start-up station, RockTalk.

The new community-run station was given priority over the established Fuse FM - which broadcasts for a month per semester - earlier in the year when licences were dished out.

DJ's had been facing up to the prospect of only broadcasting over the Internet for the second semester at Manchester – but earlier in the year Fuse won their licence back!

The new start-up no longer needed the broadcasting spot so the Students' Union appealed to Ofcom, the government's media regulation body, and was granted permission to go on as before.
